10 Ways to Bring Joy Back to Your Life

It's been a really tough week. You know that feeling where you just need some comfort? Well, if you're ready for an emotional boost, then keep watching! In this video, I'll be sharing with you some of the things that have helped me get through those hard times and make me feel better about myself again.

Number 1: Take a walk outside to enjoy the sunshine.

One of the best things you can do to feel good is get some fresh air. When I'm feeling down, a nice walk outside always seems to help pick me up. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and there's just something about being in nature that makes you feel more at peace.

Number 2: Spend time with people who make you laugh.

I'm sure we've all had those days when nothing seems to go your way - but sometimes the best thing for that kind of day is a good laugh! I have some friends who always know just how much joy laughter can bring us and they never fail at making me smile or giggle no matter what.

Number 3: Get some new clothes that you love and feel good in.

It's amazing how something as simple as buying yourself a new outfit can make you feel better about yourself. When I'm feeling down, I'll often go shopping for something that makes me happy - whether it be a bright color, pretty pattern, or just something that makes me feel confident.

Number 4: Look at your life as an adventure.

No matter what kind of day you're having, remember that you are the main character in your own life story and it's always an adventure! Sometimes we just need to take a step back and look at the big picture to see all of the amazing things going on in our lives.

Number 5: Give yourself permission to take care of yourself.

One of the best things you can do for yourself is give yourself permission to relax and take some time for YOURSELF. This could be something as simple as reading a book, taking a bath, or meditating for a few minutes each day. Just make sure that whatever you choose, it brings joy into your life.

Number 6: Start each day with a positive affirmation.

When I wake up every morning, one of the first things I do is write down my intentions for the day. This helps me to focus on what's most important and makes sure that no matter what happens during those 24 hours - at least they were filled with joy!

Number 7: Spend time in nature every day.

This is probably obvious but spending time outside can be very beneficial for our physical health as well as mental wellness (which includes joy!). So if you're looking to bring more joy back into your life, try going out on a hike or just taking some deep breaths while sitting under a tree next door - anything will help!

I live in Canada and I know about the cold and how hard it can be to go outside when it's -30. But there are still benefits to being outdoors, even if for a few moments. As a kid, I remember playing outside in the snow until my cheeks were pink and my eyes were sparkling out of the sheer magic that was playing in the snow. Find the magic of winter again. It's there, deep, deep, deep, deep down maybe, but it's there. Believe me. If I can find it for myself, so can you!

Number 8: Invest in your relationships.

One of the best ways to bring joy back into your life is by investing it with others - and that doesn't just mean spending money! It means putting effort into building a relationship with someone (or many people). Relationships can help us feel joy when we're feeling down because they provide comfort and support through difficult times like these; however, don't forget about those who need our love too! Think about making an extra effort today that may not seem like much now but could go far later on...

Number 9: Practice gratitude.

There are so many things in this world to be grateful for: beautiful weather, good friends, amazing food... The list goes on! When we're feeling down, it can be really helpful to shift our focus onto the good things in our lives. By practicing gratitude, we're able to see joy in even the smallest moments.

and Number 10: Play More!

This one is probably my favorite because it's so simple: just play more! When was the last time you truly let yourself have fun without any worries or stress? Whether that means going out for drinks with friends, taking a dance class, or going on a hike - do something that makes you happy and brings joy into your life.

And there you have it! Ten ways to bring joy back into your life. Just remember that whatever works for you might not work for somebody else, so don't be afraid of trying something new and having fun with it!
