Trauma Therapy & EMDR

Airdrie, Calgary, and Across Alberta

Trauma can shape how you feel, react, trust, rest, and move through life. Healing is possible, with compassionate support at a pace that feels right for you.

We Help With

Childhood trauma

Anxiety and panic

PTSD symptoms

Relationship trauma

Emotional overwhelm

Dissociation / feeling numb

People-pleasing and boundaries

Burnout and chronic stress

Trauma can affect far more than memories.

It can shape how you feel, react, trust, rest, connect with others, and move through daily life. You may look high functioning on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, shut down, anxious, or exhausted underneath.

At Bloom Narratives, we offer compassionate trauma-informed therapy that helps clients heal safely, steadily, and at a pace that feels right for them.

Trauma May Show Up As:

  • anxiety or panic

  • emotional overwhelm

  • numbness or shutdown

  • people-pleasing

  • perfectionism

  • chronic stress

  • difficulty trusting others

  • relationship patterns that repeat

  • feeling stuck in survival mode

  • shame or low self-worth

Sometimes trauma is linked to one clear event. Sometimes it develops through years of stress, instability, emotional wounds, or relationships where you had to adapt to survive.

How We Help

Our therapists support adults, youth, couples, and families in understanding how past experiences may still be impacting the present—and how healing can begin.

We provide compassionate support for adults, youth, couples, and families locally in Airdrie and Virtually across Alberta.

Therapy may focus on:

  • building safety and emotional regulation

  • understanding triggers and patterns

  • reducing distressing symptoms

  • healing attachment wounds

  • processing painful experiences

  • reconnecting with identity, confidence, and calm

Trauma Therapy Approaches We Use

No two nervous systems are the same. No two healing journeys are either.

Depending on your needs and goals, our therapists may draw from evidence-informed approaches such as:

We tailor treatment thoughtfully and collaboratively.

What Is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a research-supported therapy that helps the brain and body process painful experiences that may still feel present today.

Trauma and distressing experiences can become stored in ways that keep the nervous system activated. EMDR helps those memories feel less intense, less triggering, and less stuck.

Many clients seek EMDR when they understand their story logically, but still feel emotionally impacted by it.

EMDR may help with:

  • trauma and PTSD symptoms

  • anxiety linked to past experiences

  • panic responses

  • negative self-beliefs

  • relationship triggers

  • distressing memories

  • feeling stuck in old patterns

We always move at a pace that prioritizes safety, readiness, and trust.
