Insurance Billing
We are very pleased to offer complementary direct billing services to some insurance companies for counselling and therapy services only. Each dropdown contains the practitioner’s list of insurance companies they can direct bill.
If your insurance company is not listed under the practitioner you would like to see, this means that you must pay the clinic at the time of service, and we will provide you with a professional receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
PEASE NOTE:
It will still be important for you to check your benefit plan for your own unique coverage. Under your Paramedical Benefits, there will be a list of accepted Health Professionals and how much your Insurance company will cover. We encourage you to refer back to your benefits booklet or speak to your insurance provider regarding your specific plan.
For individuals with multiple insurance policies, please note that our system doesn’t support dual submission. Currently, we can only submit primary and secondary claims with Canada Life and only if both primary and secondary coverage is with them.

Bonnie's services are covered by most health plans, but many require patients to pay for Provisional Psychologists upfront. After that, patients can submit their receipts to their insurance provider for reimbursement.

They are not covered by mental health service benefits on insurance plans.
They will be considered under a Health Spending Account, depending on individual policies.
What if I don’t have insurance?
You can still access therapy services, but you would be paying out of pocket.
Additionally, in Canada, many health care professionals are recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency for medical expense tax credit as medical practitioners. You can view the complete list here to determine if your services would be considered under the tax credit in your province of residence. Some professional services require that you have a prescription for the service(s) you are looking into, which will be explained further on the Government of Canada’s website explaining this.
What is the process like to get help?
The process usually starts with you choosing the right fit of Health Professional. Just as you may shop around for a car, or a good pair of jeans, so too should you shop around until you find a Health Professional that is a good fit. This looks like utilizing the free consultations our Health Professionals offer.
The remainder of your journey is dependent on you, but generally consists of an initial session with your Health Professional and subsequent sessions to work towards your goals. You get to be in control of your treatment, and with your Health Professional, you will talk more specifically together about how you can reach your goals.
Do you offer family sessions?
Patience Owan and Bonnie Kelly both offer family counselling sessions.
Can you help me with reports?
Depending on your Health Professional, yes. Give us a call to talk about what you need and we can assess more accurately about who can support those needs.
What are your hours?
Our hours of operation vary throughout the week. Generally speaking, we are open Monday-Sunday, 8am-8pm. Our Health Professionals may have specific days they work with the clinic, which you can find here.
Do you offer a sliding scale for your services?
We value accessibility and understand that our services may be out of reach at the base price we offer. Our commitment to social justice ensures that you receive the quality care and services you need at an affordable price. Every clinician at Bloom holds a few spaces on their caseload for subsidized services for individuals that need it.
