I'm passionate about helping youth find their voice and feel seen and heard. The majority of my practice focuses on anxiety, confusion, fear, and overwhelm stemming from school, relationships, family and the difficult space between needing adults and developing autonomy. My approach is person-centered, holistic, and affirming.
Bonnie’s Approach to Counselling
I have centered my practice around the empowerment of individuals, allowing them to find their voice and reclaim their agency. Rooted in a person-centered approach, I am determined to create a safe and inclusive space for clients. I work collaboratively with individuals in decision-making processes, empowering them to take charge of their lives and work towards their goals. Embracing an affirming lens, I wholeheartedly accept and celebrate clients' identities and diverse backgrounds. This foundation of acceptance is a cornerstone of my practice, supporting clients to embrace their true selves without fear or judgement. Understanding the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and social well-being, I embrace a holistic approach. I recognize that individual struggles often stem from multiple factors and aim to address the root causes rather than merely treating the symptoms. Drawing on my extensive experience working with youth and in educational systems, I am focused on nurturing potential, building resilience, and fostering a sense of belonging among adolescents.
I have lived in Airdrie my entire life. Living in Airdrie has given me a deep appreciation for my hometown. The sense of community, familiar faces, and the memories tied to this place make it truly special.
Family is incredibly important to me, and I am a proud parent of four incredible young men ages 14-20. I also enjoy my furry family members.
One of my favorite ways to relax is going for walks with my puppy. Hiking is another passion of mine. There's something magical about exploring the great outdoors, connecting with nature, and witnessing the beauty of the world around us. I often embark on hiking trips with my family, making it a fun and bonding experience for all of us.
