Hello! My name is Jessica, and I am a Registered Social Worker with my Master of Social Work (MSW).
I am passionate about supporting individuals, youth, and families along their healing journey, in a trauma-informed, safe, and compassionate space. With extensive training and experience in navigating painful life events or transitions, general and relational stress, effects of toxic relationships, substance use and addiction and past or current trauma. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome the lasting effects of trauma and reclaim their lives.
Using evidence-based therapies, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs and empower you on your healing path.
Jessica’s Approach to Counselling
Jessica approaches therapy with empathy, sensitivity, and a client-centered focus. She recognizes that each person's journey is unique, and tailors her approach to meet the specific needs and goals of her clients. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Jessica collaborates with her clients to create a safe and supportive environment where healing can take place.
In her therapeutic work, Jessica guides her clients through the process of exploring and processing traumatic experiences, while also addressing related symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and dissociation. She employs a strengths-based approach, helping individuals identify their inner resilience and develop effective coping strategies to navigate the challenges they face.
As a trauma specialist, Jessica has expertise in working with various forms of trauma, including childhood abuse, sexual assault, family violence, and complex trauma resulting from ongoing adversity. She also has a deep understanding of the intersectionality of trauma, including how it intersects with issues such as race, culture, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Jessica is committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive therapy, valuing diversity and creating a safe space for individuals from all backgrounds and identities. She understands the importance of creating a therapeutic alliance built on trust, respect, and understanding, empowering her clients to reclaim their lives and move forward on a path towards healing and growth.
More About Jessica
Born and raised in Airdrie, Alberta, Jessica now enjoys spending time with her partner and dog, baking (she fell into the COVID sourdough fad!) and planning her next vacation. Jessica enjoys camping and paddle boarding in the summer and staying warm in the wintertime. If you are seeking a compassionate and dedicated therapist who specializes in healing and resiliency, Jessica LeClair provides a safe and non-judgmental space where you can begin your journey towards healing, growth, and a brighter future.
