Maintaining Changes--Learn to Play Again

She was stuck. Trapped in a job she hated, a life that felt like it was slipping away from her. Every day was the same – she’d go to work, come home, sleep, and then do it all over again. She was burned out and stressed out, and she just couldn’t take it anymore.

One day, however, she was given a game by a friend who had played it with her. It started her on a journey of learning how to play again, of experiencing awe and wonder in the little things. Slowly but surely, she began to heal. She started to find joy in life once more, and eventually she was able to leave her job and find something that truly made her happy.

Awe and wonder. That’s what this game – and life – is all about. It’s about taking the time to appreciate the little things, and it’s about finding joy in the journey, not just the destination.

What does Awe mean?

Awe is the emotion we feel when we encounter something so vast, so powerful, or so complex that it paralyzes us. In those moments of paralysis, we might reflect on our own insignificance or the inconsequentiality of our daily preoccupations. We might also marvel at the beauty or majesty of what we’re seeing.

Awe is often described as a feeling of overwhelming wonder or admiration, caused by something beautiful, powerful, or grand. It is an emotion that we feel when we encounter something so vast, so complex, or so beyond our everyday experience that it leaves us feeling speechless and awestruck.

Whether we are standing in the presence of a stunning natural landscape, gazing up at the night sky, or watching an incredible act of human achievement unfold before our eyes, awe can help us to recognize and appreciate the wonders that surround us, and to revel in the beauty and complexity of life.

What does wonder mean?

Wonder is the emotion we feel when we encounter something so strange or so unexpected that it arouses our curiosity and makes us want to know more. It is a feeling of curiosity and fascination, often sparked by something unusual or unexpected.

When we experience wonder, we may find ourselves asking questions, seeking out new information, and exploring the world with a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm. This can help to broaden our horizons, expand our knowledge, and inspire us to seek out new experiences and explore the unknown. And in this way, wonder can act as a powerful motivator, helping us to learn, grow, and discover new possibilities for ourselves.

How can Adults learn to play again?

There are many different ways that adults can learn to play again, including engaging in creative pursuits like art and music, spending time with children and animals, exploring new environments and cultures, trying out new hobbies or recreational activities, and simply making a conscious effort to appreciate the little things in life. Simply being mindful of our own emotions and recognizing when we need a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life can also be a helpful way to make time for play.

Making a conscious effort to find joy in the little things can help us to break out of our everyday routines and see the world with fresh eyes. It can also remind us of what it feels like to be carefree and open to new possibilities. When we allow ourselves to experience awe and wonder, we can find a whole new sense of joy and satisfaction in life.
